“Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.”
When we hear the word forest, we imagine a large area covered in trees, bushes, leaves, and wildlife — trees with bare branches, trees in different colors, bushes full of berries, birds flying high, bears roaming low. Yet no matter how large a forest may be, one very small spark could set it ablaze. A spark catches fire to a leaf, the leaf catches fire to a bush, the bush catches fire to a tree, and then to the whole forest. Though it may seem small at first, a spark can deal a large amount of damage.
