According to research chronic pain is both a physical and psychological problem. People who live with chronic pain may find themselves struggling with not only stress, but depression, fear and anxiety as well. Health experts all know that stress is bad for your health in general yet for chronic pain patient’s it’s even more so because stress lowers your pain tolerance levels. When people learn that pain is a psychological problem they often turn to natural relaxation techniques to help relax the body and the mind to alleviate stress, thus helping them feel better.

There are many different relaxation techniques that can help people with chronic pain. Don’t worry if some of them don’t come quickly to you at first, not everyone can relax the same, and some people may even need a combination of techniques to help themselves fully relax.
