Whatever we can hide from others, can never be hidden from God. Every action we make and every thought we think becomes a part of the past and becomes a part of own movie, called “life”. We can’t edit that movie, because what’s in the past is in the past and can’t be changed, but what gives us hope and comfort is the promise that God gives us in 1 Isaiah 1:18 (please read it below)
No matter how bad we did in our life and how much shame we might be carrying, God gives us His word that if we obey Him and strive to be clean in our soul, He will make our sins white. He will make us new in Him and the past will be forgiven.
1 Isaiah 1:15
15 When you spread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
even though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
cease to do evil,
17 learn to do good;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow’s cause.
18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20 but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
1 John 1:6
If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
