My name is Olga and I’m originally from Russia. I came from a poor single parent family where we never had enough money to cover basic needs. My Mom had to work 3 jobs just to survive. What became a turning point in my life and what really helped me realize how real God is was when the biggest dream of my life came true!

Mom and I were asking God every single day for many years to help us live in America. My Mom was a single parent and she didn’t have good luck with several of her marriages, so she gave up on her happiness and dedicated her life to raising me. Financial struggle and also the fact that Russia had closed borders with US helped us rely more on God and less on the limited sources we had.

I got no support from my friends or even family what so ever, only my Mom stayed strong and prayed for us constantly.

So, one day, when I saw an advertisement in my university for all the students of the faculty of foreign languages only (the one that I was in) to go to the US for the whole summer to practice English and earn some money (they were offering various summer jobs), I knew instantly God was opening a door of opportunity for me! I couldn’t feel my legs and my whole body was trembling from the thought that my biggest dream that I was praying for so many years was about to come true!

I went to the US in 2007 with $200 in my pocket and a piece of paper with the name and address of my work place, Krispy Kreme. I had no place to stay and I didn’t know a single person, again, all I had was faith in God and trust in Him. That’s when my journey in US started..

My second miracle happened within a few minutes when I got off the bus. An american man and his girlfriend, at that time, picked me up. The man was treating me like my father entire time I was in US. He helped with with so many things, I really don’t know what I would do without his help. I never had a real father as my parents split up when I was young, so it meant a lot to me to have someone in my life who could be so caring. The summer after that he became my real father. He ended up falling in love with my Mom and marrying her a few months later.

I still don’t know what that man saw in me and why was he so willing to help me? All I know is that God was watching  me and leading me in his own beautiful way.

My journey wasn’t easy though, many of my Russian friends went back home as they saw no future and no hope. I had times when I had no food and no place to stay, but God was always, always showing me His kindness. He does give us obstacles, but not more than we can handle. He knows our limits, and His goal is not to kill us, but make us stronger.

Throughout these years I learned how to be patient and how to stay positive no matter what. I realized that our mind can be our strongest weapon, but it can also defeat us if we don’t use it right. I realized that God is real and He can make even the wildest dreams come true.

Now I know for sure that my source of happiness and inspiration comes from Him and Him only! He is my best medicine and strength. He loves me and you, and everyone else. He hears our prayers and He is so willing to show us His goodness if we just let Him. He is so real and SO powerful!

I want to encourage you today that your dreams can and will come true. Believe in that, believe in yourself and know that God is with you!

He is on YOUR side. ALWAYS.

Whatever you are going through now, please never give up! Don’t listen to your fears and doubts, but instead put your trust in God and ask Him every single day to help you. He promises that He will!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jer 29:11
